Tribute to Gordon R. Blizzard by John Wesley Blizzard

John Shaw was General J. E. B. Stuart's courier at Chancellorsville. John Wesley Blizzard was Stonewall Jackson't orderly. Blizzard delivered Jackson's last order for Stuart to Shaw, shortly before Jackson's death. The two never met again after the war until they were reunited at the Lee Home more than 70 years later.

In 1935, John Wesley Blizzard applied for admission to the Robert E. Lee Camp Confederate Soldiers’ Home in Richmond, VA. The home was unable to find pertinent records, so in response to a request for additional information, John wrote the following account of his military service.
